Fair Haven Homes Society receives basic funding from the Health Authorities to provide care for 200 elders living in Vancouver Lodge and Burnaby Lodge. While this funding ensures essential staff and services, we welcome additional donations to enhance our residents’ living environment. Your contributions contribute to creating a more home-like atmosphere by beautifying spaces, updating equipment, and introducing new services and programs.
Fair Haven is recognized for its focus on person-centred care. We are committed to providing a holistic care approach that includes activities and resources that enhance the quality of life of our residents who call Fair Haven home.
We are proud to acknowledge that we also provide homes for more than 350 low- to moderate-income seniors. Funding for repairs and upgrades are always gratefully received and used to provide safe homes for seniors in our community living on a limited or fixed income.
No matter how you give – whether it be volunteering time or donating money – your help is essential to supporting the Fair Haven community. As stewards of donated funds, we pay particular attention to ensure your donation makes a difference.
We use donated funds in these major areas:
Adopt-a-Senior: Donations to this fund support seniors in need to purchase clothing, toiletries and other necessities, help them to access additional services, and allow them to participate in for fee recreation programs.
Quality of Life Programs: Music therapy, art therapy, entertainment, and spiritual care programs.
Capital Equipment/Projects: Equipment such as mechanical lifts, pressure reduction mattresses and oxygen concentrates are some of the items purchased through donations. Garden enhancements, new furnishings and space renovations are also funded through the generosity of donors.
Staff Appreciation: Gifts towards staff appreciation are a thoughtful way to show our employees just how much they are appreciated for their effort and commitment to the quality of care everyone receives at Fair Haven throughout the year.
