Vancouver B Building is a two-storey independent living rental apartment for seniors 55 years and over. It has 43 bachelor suites each with a floor area of approximately 270 sq. ft., and 7 one-bedroom suites with approximately 490 sq. ft. floor area.

All units have a fridge and a stove/oven. There are communal sitting areas for tenants.

Laundry rooms are located on each floor equipped with two washing machines and two dryers, all coin-operated.

A small locker is provided for each tenant at the basement of the building.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be over 55 years and able to care for self.
Applicant’s income must be within the BC Housing Seniors Rentals Income Limits.

 


 

The Fair Haven – Burnaby Cottages

Burnaby:

Location:      Rumble St. Burnaby BC V5J 2A2

Duplex cottages are located along the 4300 block of Rumble St. in Burnaby. There are 20 independent living cottages for seniors 55 years or over. These 1-BR cottages are approximately 440 sq. ft. and a storage shed is provided at the back. A small patch surrounds the cottage that tenants can use for gardening.

All units have a fridge, a stove/oven and its own hot water tank.

Laundry facilities equipped with two washing machines and two dryers (coin-operated) are available at the nearby Fair Haven Burnaby Apartments.

Parking is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Fair Haven – Burnaby Apartments

Burnaby Apartments

Location:      4351 Rumble St. Burnaby BC V5J 2A2

The Fair Haven – Burnaby Apartment Building is a three-storey independent living rental apartment for seniors 55 years and over, and for tenants 50 - 54 years old  with disabilities.

There are 55 barrier-free, 1-BR units with floor area of approximately 650 sq. ft. All units have a small patio. Communal seating areas, some with TVs and pianos, are available for the tenants to use.

The building, which opened in March 1999, is a project in partnership with the BC Housing and Mortgage Corporation; 33 units are subsidized on a needs basis and the 22 units are market units.

All units have a fridge, a stove and a dishwasher.

There is a laundry room per floor each equipped with two washing machines and two dryers (all coin-operated).

A small locker is provided for each tenant at the basement of the building.

Limited parking space underground is available for a fee.

The first floor lounge (with kitchen) is available for tenants’ use; booking with the office is required in advance.

Subsidized Units are a percentage of the tenant's income (assessed based on BC Housing guidelines)
*Radiant heat and hot water are included in the rent.
